My name's Becci Goodman and I'm 19 years old. I'm a fun loving girl who loves music. I sing, play the flute, and then I attempt to play the guitar. Attempt being the operative word!
I'm a guide leader at the moment and I've been in the guiding industry since I was born, as my mum has always been a leader of guides. I've been in Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and then to follow it on I've been training to be a guide leader.
Apart from guiding I'm a teaching assistant at a primary school where I work with special needs children.
In my spare time I love to dance, sing, watch films, go out with friends and I just love to socialise.
I love working with young people and I think they are extremely special people who have a lot to give to everyone!! To be able to talk to young people about why I'm a Christian and why I'm so lucky to be a Princess of God is just an incredible gift. After about 18 months of wanting to work in the church, my time has finally come! I'm so excited that I get to share it all with you.
I'm really looking forward to coming to work with you all from the end of August.
I can't wait to see what God has in store for me over the next year!
See you all soon.
Love Bexx

I’m Andy Barratt one of your new gap year youth and children’s workers, I am incredibly excited about the coming year and here is a little bit about me:
Having moved to Maidenhead almost 13 years ago with my family, I have just finished my last year of 6th form at Furze Platt School where I was deputy head boy. Juggling school with a part time job and various other commitments, I have just completed 3 A levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry and currently I am eagerly awaiting the results from those exams. After this year I hope to go to University in Exeter to study maths (that’s if I get the grades!) Last October I started to learn guitar and incredibly 8 months on I am still playing and despite the total loss of feeling in the tips of my fingers I enjoy it immensely. In my spare time I love running which can seem a very punishing sport most of the time but it helps to keep me focused and refreshed. Apart from this I am a keen reader, reading pretty much anything I can get my hands on, but to date one of the best books I have read was “What’s so amazing about grace?” by Phillip Yancey. In July last year I started coming to St Peters on a Sunday morning having been involved in the youth work as a young person for 2 years. I have been brought up going to church but 3 years ago I was pretty uninspired by God; I thought Church was boring, Christians dull and Christianity irrelevant. However since starting to go to ID 3 years ago I have started my life long journey with Jesus. At first this was quite tentatively but as I have got to know more of who God is and His heart, a passion for Jesus has been ignited by the Holy Spirit and my life has changed. Therefore when I was confirmed last year at All Saints Church in Boyne Hill I was showing my family, friends and the world the complete turnaround of my heart. I am so pleased to be doing this gap year and I think it will shape me as a follower of Jesus forever.
