Child Protection Policies and Guidelines
At St. Peter's Church we take child protection issues very seriously. All of our leaders will have undergone an enhanced police check through the Criminal Records Beaureau (CRB), and will have regular opportunites to attend training in the area of safeguarding children and young people. Below are the guidelines and policies which we adhere to throughout the youth work. The Children's Advocate is a named independent person that children are encouraged to talk to if they have worries. This person is also available for contact by people who are concerned about a child or young person or about the behaviour of an adult. |
Protecting Children in the Diocese of Oxford: This is a comprehensive document that we as a Church adhere to, following the advice of experts in safeguarding children and young people
Images of children and young people: This is a set of guidelines written specifically in response to concerns over images of children put on the website. It follows the broad principles as set out in the diocesan document above
Communicating Electronically: This is a set of guidelines written in response to the new ways in which many young people seem to be communicating today using emails, message boards, social networking sites and mobile phones. It is again a supplement to the Diocesan policy above
